Role Purpose
The Restaurant General Manager is responsible for managing KFC restaurants within the Company policies and guidelines to ensure that sales, service, profitability, and standards are maximized. He/She direct the daily operations of the restaurant while ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas of operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that all the restaurant resources (labor, product, supplies, tills, and equipment) are at the correct levels, carry out local restaurant marketing activity, and keep aware of all local competitor activities to meet the various volumes of the business
- Maximize the profitability and sales of the restaurant, monitor food, pack, controllable expenses, and labor costs, and co-ordinate in-store promotions in order to achieve and exceed the sales budget and occupy established targets.
- Ensure that the correct volume of product is prepared to meet the level of business, labor costs are in-line with budget, product control sheet and weekly labor schedules are accurately maintained, and all daily, weekly and monthly paperwork is accurately completed
- Ensure that all cash handling and in-store banking procedures are adhered, correct level of supplies are ordered, deliveries are checked, stock levels are monitored on a daily and weekly basis, and discrepancies are fully investigated and reported
- Ensure the Company standards (ROCC & GES) are met, all customer complaints are handled correctly and reported, litter patrols are carried out as required, and restaurant cleaning plan/Rota is adhered.
- Ensure that all Statutory and Company Health, Safety, and Food Hygiene regulations are followed, all restaurant staff and management are fully trained, and all Company Security Procedures are followed while following up on issues arising from EHO audits to ensure corrective action is taken as required
- Ensure that the restaurant is correctly staffed to meet the needs of the business, recruiting additional staff as necessary, all new staff receives a comprehensive induction, recruiting additional staff as necessary which is not conflicting with the Companys Equal Opportunities Policy
- Ensure that all new staff receives a comprehensive induction, all employees are correctly trained, and policies and procedures contained in the personnel policies section are followed to minimize employee relations issues within the restaurant
- Handle employee relations issues within the restaurant, conduct disciplinary and grievance proceedings with hourly paid staff, perform starter, leaver, payroll change documentation, and hold monthly CHAMPS meetings while discussing various issues affecting the restaurant and personnel
- Mentor new RGMDs and ARGMs with potential for restaurant management while performing annual appraisals with Assistant Managers, Team Leaders, and Team Members to conduct appropriate training by following the Developing Champions program
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or equivalent. Masters degree is a plus
- 7 10 years of experience out of which at least 3 in a senior position
- Fluency in English, French is a must
- Proficiency in MS Office
